We are so excited to post these photos of our newly remodeled store! At the beginning, we had a very simple plan of starting with a wall to separate our shipping area from the Retail Store. A month later after recycling every piece of cedar wood from our old props, we finished. In a way, we built our store just like we built our business. It started by taking the first step, evaluating what was accomplished, take another step etc. Many steps later it is better than you would have ever expected.
Our original goal was to do such a nice job that our customers would smile when they walked in the front door. With our Annual Egg Hunt coming up soon, we should soon know. Our bet is we will see some smiles.
These gourd eggs have been hand painted by a National Junior Honor Society Member from Big Spring High School. They are currently for sale in our Retail Store (125 Potato Road Carlisle, PA) for $5 each. All proceeds from these eggs benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region!
We’re so excited to have taken the plunge into the world of pinning on Pinterest! We’re loving it already and filling our boards up with gourd, home, and crafting inspiration! Check out our page here. We look forward to following your boards.
We would like to send a big THANK YOU to everyone that participated in our first Online Silent Auction. It was a huge success with over 200 bids coming in. We are able to donate $640.00 to Project S.H.A.R.E as a result of this auction. Thank you again!
We joined other Carlisle Area businesses as part of the Claus Cause! This year's charity was Project S.H.A.R.E. We are so thrilled we were able to play a part in this great initiative to support a worthy cause.
We have introduced a brand new feature to our website called Crafter’s Corner!!! Here you will find a series of products created completely by hand by a master gourd craftsman. Right now we are featuring the crafts and art of Todd Heller.
About Todd Heller:
I officially started working for Meadowbrooke Gourds in 2000, but I had done shows before for them and have been on every company vacation. I mainly work in the crafting area cutting and putting parts on gourds. I enjoy working with everyone here and I enjoy going to the shows to see people’s reactions to our creations. I’m married, and my wife works here too. I also have two children, Zack and Lauren. I like to spend time with my family and work on my little tiny truck when I am not at work.
Here are just a few of his signature items available online through Crafter’s Corner:
